Which Countries Don't Observe Daylight Saving Time?

Most of the world, in fact — and that is why differences shift twice a year.

The majority of countries never change their clocks. That includes almost all of Africa and Asia — India, China, Japan, Singapore, the UAE, Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa among them — plus most of South America and all of Iceland.

Mexico ended nationwide daylight saving in 2022. Within the United States, Arizona (excluding the Navajo Nation) and Hawaii do not change their clocks.

Why it matters to you

When a country does not move, the difference to a country that does will change twice a year without anyone in the fixed country doing anything. Dubai to London is four hours in winter and three in summer, purely because of London.
