PST vs PDT Explained

PST is Pacific Standard Time at UTC−8, used from November to March. PDT is Pacific Daylight Time at UTC−7, used from March to November.

Technology companies popularised "PST" as a catch-all for west coast time, so you will see it written in July when the correct label is PDT. The clock people actually read in Los Angeles is what matters — so "Pacific Time" is the phrase that is always true.
